Many moons ago, I swore to myself that I will never EVER love another HK movie the way I fell in love with this one. Of coz I grew out of that promise but it had always stayed in my all-time favourite HK movie list.
.
Thanks to a certain someone, I was reminded of this again when he sent me an email with the youtube of the movie’s theme song. Sally’s hairstyle in the video is a dead giveaway that it was a classic 80’s movie, eh? LOL.
.
I’ve always loved Sally Yeh (and still do) who played her role of a spoilt heiress to the T. I think it was around that era of my life when I sharpened my definition of ‘My Dream Man’. I was practically dreaming and drooling over Mark Cheng every single night of my life then! (If you are a FLAME fan, you have Mark to thank for coz he was the one who started this makan chain in Penang & KL) It’s funny tho, how I realised as I grew up that it was the nerds that turned me on, not the jocks who are just nice to ‘cuci mata’ but are usually (not all, but most) empty up there.
.
Yeah, I am not ashamed to tell you that it’s the nerds that rock my boat. If you are close enough to me and know my relationship history, think back to all the guys I’ve been serious with (don’t count the non-serious ones lah!). Each and every one of them fits the nerd suit, no? Even my Sweetheart admits that he is a 100% nerd. LOL.
.
So hey you nerd, thanks for sharing the video with me, ya? I will keep looking for the movie and get you a copy too (IF I find it lah).
“…we danced on the beach, kissed on the beach, and DOT DOT DOT!”
.
That’s my favourite opening line from Mama Mia the Movie. If you have not watched it, view the trailer here. If you have watched it and would like to grab hold of the song lyrics, go here.
.
For those of you who’ve watched the movie, did you know that the 2 original members of the ABBA band made cameo apperances in the movie? Benny was the piano player on the pier in the DANCING QUEEN song and Björn was one of the Greek gods floating on the clouds in the WATERLOO song at the end credits.
.
As you folks know from here, I’ve watched it last week. Second time round was this week and it was extra special in a fun-weird sorta way.
- Fun - We brought someone with us on our Friday nite out.
- Weird - It felt somewhat like a chaperoned movie date. Hehe…
Being an avid ABBA fan, Sweetheart’s mom was keen to watch the movie. We decided to bring her to the movies with us to watch it on the big screen. Her excited words to me as we headed into the cinema -“It’s been soooo long since I went to the movies that I don’t even remember when!”
.
I was kinda surprised to find Sweetheart throwing back his head to laugh a couple of times, and occasionally, even louder than the aunties sitting around us! Guess he enjoyed it too. Heh, who wouldn’t with great songs like these, huh???
.
So, yeah we had fun @ dinner (mostly it was his mom getting to know me better), we had fun @ the movie and after sending his mom home, we had fun DOT DOT DOT!
