Shinkansen (新幹線)

“What can a woman in a strange land do in Tokyo that will not put her in danger, yet give her one of Life’s best experiences?”

.
That question had been running around my head since early this week when I realised that I have a full free day in Tokyo before my team arrives from UK and US. I didn’t know what I want to do, what I can do…but I know for sure I ain’t staying in my Tokyo hotel room and watch Life passing me by.
.
“You can go shop for the Umeshu drink, the Jap curry packs that you love so much, and all the many other Jap food stuff that you’ve been raving about since your last trip to Tokyo” - a galfriend suggested.
.
I thought about it but nahhhhh, am gonna be able to do that after any day work during the week. Since my hotel is right smack in the middle of Tokyo city, there are lots of shops/malls to get those food stuff from. So, I’d rather spend my free day doing something I won’t get to do on a regular workday in Tokyo.
.
Somehow somewhere, the word ‘Shinkansen‘ came up and I tossed some ideas with Sweetheart. He agreed that it’s a great idea, considering that riding a bullet train is not something we can do as and when we feel like it…unless you live in Japan or in Paris lah. One of his regrets from his time in Tokyo years ago was not getting a Shinkansen ride.
.
Found this article and it sure seems pretty easy, eh?
.
Will dig around for more exciting stuffs to do on Sept 23rd. Got any good suggestions? :)

.
It seems it’s Autumnal Equinox holiday on that day. Hopefully, the Japs are nothing like Malaysians who clog up roads, supermarkets, parks…basically anywhere that can accomodate human bodies!
