Rain, rain…go away!

Over the weekend, the guys up there must be either really pissed about something or they decided to perform some *serious* spring-cleaning. It poured and poured and poured! Not just cats & dogs but elephants and dinosaurs and dragons!

.
However, a promise’s a promise.
.
In my attempt to make it up to my parents for being anti-social in the past 2 weeks (no thx to the damn bug!), I gave them my word that I’d take them across the seas for some delicious yam rice lunch. So, rain or shine, I drove downtown on Saturday to pick them up before we headed over to BM (Bkt Mertajam).
.
Yeah yeah…I know that I just had it last weekend with my friends but it was so good that I knew I had to take my folks there. ‘Sides, I wouldn’t mind having it again. So that makes me a pig but sue me…I love good food. :D

.
This time round, I did manage to take a decent picture of the food.

Yes, I went back to the same place for Yam Rice … maybe coz that’s the ONLY place I know how to find in BM! *sheepish grin* Am waiting for a certain someone to come back from UK to take me around her hometown to try out the other yam rice places. ;)

.
Oh, Mari…I didn’t get the aloe vera from your mom. I know you told me to get it from her but when I told my mom that I wanna call up a friend’s mom to get something for my cough, she gave me a long lecture about being ‘beh phai-seh’, taking things from others. :|

.
Anyway, I am feeling alot better now. Still a slight lingering irritation but at least, I am sleeping better now. Or was it the Chivas? Hehehe….
.
After lunch, I decided to take my folks (and my fav aunt who decided to join us at the last minute) to the newest shopping mall in BM. It’s so new that their website hasn’t even added it to their list of AEON/JUSCO stores. However, lots have visited and even blogged about it. Read one of the entires here.
.
Highlight of the mall trip was - BR ice cream!!! :D  Check out the happy folks enjoying their cups of ice cream. Of coz I had my own cup. NO SHARING! :)

Since it was the Mid-Autumn Festival month, almost every other food shop was selling mooncakes. They’re getting more and more creative too. Am not exactly a mooncake fan but one caught my eye and I had a sudden urge to try it out.
.
Green Tea Red Bean Mooncake. It actually tastes pretty good.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival, y’all! :D

Dearie, please do go to my house the next time you are in BM. As the saying goes why keep all the goods to yourself when you can share with the world? The aloe vera is a breed from US so it’s big and juicy with lots of flesh so it’s good when u have any ailment. Don’t be shy la… Don’t be pai-seh! Tell your mom I said you MUST go the next time… hehehe…
