I am separating this post into 2 parts mainly becoz I don’t have the pix from the nite to share yet. Hopefully, I will have them by tomorrow. *hint hint!* So this post is primarily to share some *very* important info on clubbing in KL.

Celebration # 2 - Part 1
Celebration # 1
It didn’t exactly pan out as planned but amazingly, we still managed to get some good times out of it. It’s really true that it’s the company that matters. y’know…
Planning is good and safe … but frightfully BORING!
The weekend was everything but boring.

Me & My Mee Goreng
There are a few places one can go for mee goreng in Penang. Different folks will have different favourite places to satisfy their Mee Goreng craving. For me, there are 4 places worth mentioning.

Onsen, ga?
“No trip to Japan is complete without getting an Onsen experience in the countryside” - so I have been told.
Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to savour Creolean food. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. I soon realised that I could very easily fall in love with Creolean cuisine.
Global Handshake
I said “Good evening”
She said “Good morning”
He said “Good afternoon”

Last week, a galfriend emailed me an interesting recipe that tickled my curiosity. Together with some galfriends, we decided to give the recipe a try over the weekend - with some minor tweaking of our own (we didn’t like the creamy topping and decided to substitute with vanilla ice-cream).
Nice, bo?
While I am stuck at home ploughing thru conference calls with folks from different corners of the globe going “Good morning, good afternoon and good evening, depending on where you’re at!”, he sent me these.
Happy Birthday, Drey!
We celebrated the birthday of someone dear to us last night. There was lots of :

- free champagne (thx MoMo!)
- dancing
- fun
- camwhoring
- get-the-b’day-gal-drunk games
- MORE booze
2-bz-2-update post
Got lots to update but no time to put them altogether. Yet another bz bz bz bz weekend! Will try to update as much as I can in the coming week, ok? Can’t promise much either coz work is getting crazy in preparation for the Japan week-long meeting. Sigh.
Shinkansen (新幹線)
“What can a woman in a strange land do in Tokyo that will not put her in danger, yet give her one of Life’s best experiences?”
Blessings
Today, I’d like to count my blessings.
- For my wonderfully supportive boss who is constantly shoving opportunities my way. It’s IMPOSSIBLE not to stand out amongst the global leaders at the rate he is going! No, I am not complaining. Just a tad worried that I may disappoint some folks and worse, disappoint ME. But just a tad.
- For my ability to grow some instant ‘balls’ and take on the challenges thrown my way.
- For having the most versatile parents. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have achieved all those crazy things that no1 in our family has ever dreamt of doing.
- For my friends from all phases of my Life. The ones in school, the ones in Uni, the ones at work, the ones that appear out of nowhere - I love them all to bits!
- For my acquaintances. How else will I learn to appreciate my friends?
- For my Sweetheart and his family. Always making me feel special in so many ways. When he calls and goes “Elo, watcha doing???” in his super manja way. The many precious things his mom does for me. The love and the warmth from the rest of his family. A woman could not ask for more.
- Most importantly, for my passion in Life. WIthout it, I wouldn’t have passed all those tests God threw my way. It was my passion that drove me on. To constantly strive for more out of Life and what it has to offer.
- Also not forgetting, for YOU. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be writing this.
Oh indeed, I am well and truly blessed. ![]()
Earlier this week, I wrote about this.
.
Today, I am writing to SHOUT OUT to the whole world that I am insanely in love with it!!!
Umeshu
A couple of years ago, I was introduced to this wonderful drink by a galfriend who got hitched with a Japanese dude. It had me at first sip - I was utterly, hopelessly and completed hooked!
Happy Full Moon, G!
Remember this dude?
.
Today, he completed a full cycle of the moon and excited folks like me got rewarded with this.

Rain, rain…go away!

Nihon-bound (にほん)
In less than 3 weeks, I will find myself back in the Land of the Rising Sun.
Sick = Emo
I miss :
R u ‘Or Lor’?
Or-Lor or Tèh
*The Hokkien folks (especially the Penangites) will know what I mean*
.
The Malay language has a word for it - ‘manja’ - but the English language does seem to have the right word for it.
Pigs in a blanket
Most folks know that I have many loves in my life.
.
Love for me, love for you, love for him, love for my family, love for passion, love for fun, love for Absolut Vodka *hic* and most importantly, love for food.
Freedom
Freedom! Freedom! Freedom!
.
Those were the words reverberating through the air on August 31, 1957 - the day our nation obtained Independance. Except that the original words were not in English…but you get the idea.
